Cilento national park

The Cilento National Park is a ' protected area of 180 thousand hectares , the largest of Campania and the second in Italy after the Pollino National Park. It covers 80 municipalities and 8 mountain communities and stretches from the Tyrrhenian coast to the Apennines, covering almost the entire Vallo di Diano. Within the protected zone within the mountains of Albuni, Gelbison and Cervati , as well as locations and important archeological sites such as Paestum, Velia (ancient polis of Magna Grecia) and the Certosa di Padula.

The entire coast of Cilento, among other things, has protected status from the park, which is headquartered in Vallo della Lucania, and whose task is to protect the vast territory under his control, from building illegality and neglect .
